Elderflower 76
Elegant, bright, and beautifully refreshing, the Elderflower 76 is a light twist on the classic French 75. Swapping Champagne for the vibrant fizz of Double Dutch Double Lemon Soda, this sparkling cocktail blends botanicals, citrus, and just a hint of honey for a drink that feels both celebratory and effortlessly cool.
Why We Love the Elderflower 76
The Elderflower 76 offers all the charm of its French cousin — but with a modern, lower-alcohol edge. A base of dry gin (or vodka, if you prefer) gives it structure and subtle spice, while fresh lemon juice brings clarity and brightness. A touch of runny honey softens the sharpness without overpowering it, and Double Dutch Double Lemon tops everything off with a crisp, citrusy sparkle that makes each sip sing.
It's the kind of drink you can serve at a garden party, brunch, or any special occasion where you want something light, sophisticated, and downright delicious. With no shaking required (though you can if you like), it’s also one of the easiest fancy-feeling cocktails you can make at home.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve in a chilled Champagne flute for maximum sparkle and style.
- Garnish with a delicate lemon twist — it adds aroma and an elegant finish.
- This drink is ideal as an aperitif or alongside light canapés, seafood, or citrusy desserts.
Top Tips
- If shaking, make sure the honey fully dissolves before pouring — or stir well in a tumbler with a little ice.
- For a botanical boost, try an elderflower-forward gin.
- Chill the Double Dutch Double Lemon in advance to preserve its bubbles and keep the cocktail cold without over-dilution.
With its crisp citrus flavour, floral undertones, and subtle sweetness, the Elderflower 76 is a simple yet stunning cocktail that turns any moment into a celebration. Light in feel but full of flavour, it’s a modern classic in the making.
