… and guess what – being the perfect host doesn’t mean spending all day in the kitchen. Check out these ideas on keeping your guests happy whilst having a brilliant time yourself (hey, if you’re hosting, you should get to enjoy it too)!

FIRST THINGS FIRST – BBQ COCKTAILS!

Turn up the heat and sizzle with an easy yet refreshing cocktail

The Perfect BBQ Cocktail

Elegant and tasty, we have the perfect cocktail to spice up your BBQ. Introducing the Dutch Mojito…

How to make this crowd-pleasing classic?

🌻Add fresh mint and a splash of lime juice

☀️Top with Double Dutch Cucumber & Watermelon Mixer

🍃Garnish with mint leaves and a slice of lime

Double Dutch Cucumber & Watermelon Mixer

Savour the summer days with this pairing inspo

Keep it simple (yet delicious) by pairing Double Dutch Double Lemon with vodka; we promise our double lemon is a step above homemade lemonade. Garnish with a lemon slice and a sprig of mint, and you’ll have a delightful drink in no time at all. For those not drinking, skip on the vodka, and you’ve got a tangy, refreshing drink to sip solo. Enjoy!

BBQ RECIPE IDEAS

JUST WRITING THIS IS MAKING US HUNGRY

Cover the drinks and the food in one!

2 cups ginger ale (pssst … the Double Dutch one is delicious)

2 tablespoons light brown sugar

2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger

⅛ teaspoon ground red pepper

Stir all your ingredients together in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Then reduce heat to medium, and cook for 15 to 20 minutes until reduced, stirring occasionally. You can prepare this one in advance, so you’re not wasting time in the kitchen when your guests arrive. Also, any leftover ginger ale will be perfect to add to your drink stations!

BBQ RECIPE IDEAS

Switch up your traditional BBQ Food

The BBQ go-to is meat, meat and more meat. But, we have a tasty suggestion; make fish the star of your BBQ. We recommend sea bass, but most types of fish are delicious when they’ve been grilled on the BBQ!

Our recommendation for cooking fish on the BBQ

Simply mix Double Dutch Cranberry & Ginger Mixer with Chinese 5 spice, a little garlic and crushed ginger. Add to your white fish of choice, wrap in foil, and get it on the BBQ. You will have a tasty, melt in the mouth dish that everyone will love (with minimal effort from you)!

A Veggie BBQ

For the veggies (but everyone else won’t be able to resist)

Need a meat alternative? Halloumi is an absolute winner. Slice, season with oregano, brush with a little olive oil, and on the BBQ it goes! Whack in a burger, skewer for kebabs, use in a salad … the possibilities are endless (and delicious).

A Veggie BBQ

FABULOUS ENTERTAINMENT (THAT WILL ACTUALLY CREATE LESS WORK)

Get your BBQ cocktail on

Instead of serving your delicious Double Dutch drinks in a pitcher, create a fun cocktail making station. Add some recipe suggestions (our website has some fabulous inspo), and your guests can enjoy making their own. This saves you a job and keeps your guests entertained.

Light it up

Get your fire pit out. Your guests will love the atmosphere and create a night to remember. However, little do they know this is all about you! Keeping it warm outside means your guests won’t migrate indoors, so there’s less clean up in your house. You can also get some marshmallows on the go, and that’s dessert covered without you lifting a finger.

Your All Set For A Summer Full of BBQs

Now you’re armed with these fail-safe ideas, check the weather and get planning your next BBQ! Being the perfect host doesn’t mean missing out on the party. Put on your favourite outfit and have a magical night (with delicious drinks, of course)!
