Our mission is to make sure you never have to drink dull again

Born and raised in the Netherlands, the birthplace of gin, we grew up alongside a lively world of drinks delivering constant innovations. However, we soon realised that, whilst the world of alcoholic drinks had become more vibrant and diverse than ever, the world of tonics and mixers had scarcely changed at all.

Realising that a flavourful drink relies on the mixer as much as it does the alcohol, we took it upon ourselves to create a range of versatile mixers with new and unpredictable flavour pairings. That aim led to Double Dutch, a company which has made it it’s mission to ensure you never drink dull again.

We decided predictable wasn’t good enough and set ourselves the challenge of shaking up the mixer market. We started to experiment by pairing our own mixer innovations (Cucumber & Watermelon and Pomegranate & Basil) with a range of spirits, mainly at parties (of course) which led us to be dubbed the ‘tonic twins’ by our friends and family.

When we moved to London to complete a joint (naturally) masters in Tech Entrepreneurship, we developed Double Dutch as a business. We were awarded the best dissertation in our year, and that was the seed funding that started our career. The rest, as they say, is history (and a lot of hard work).

We’ve dedicated our lives to creating Double Dutch, a company that blends superb taste fusions with a focus on sustainability, garnished by a firm belief in the importance of having fun. From the very beginning, feedback showed that we’d more than succeeded with recognition such as the Foodpreneur Award from Richard Branson in 2015 and Best Adult Soft Drink Award at the World Beverage Innovation Awards in 2016.

The superpower behind every pairing we make is molecular gastronomy

We produce bold, new, unexpected flavour combinations that thrill the palate. Our products are the result of a flavour-led approach that uses only the best ingredients, free from artificial flavouring or colouring, and designed with taste in mind. We’re low on sugar, high on flavour and quick to get the party started.

Our drinks stand alone, fully satisfying in their own right, but also enhance the taste of a range of spirits, allowing bartenders to create innovative new flavour-led cocktails and consumers to enjoy reliably delicious, never dull, drinks at home.

Flavour isn’t enough though. As entrepreneurs, we feel a genuine responsibility to ensure we don’t leave the planet in a worse position than we found it and share our purpose led approach with our community, suppliers and customers. We’re focused on sustainability, actively engaging with our supply chain to understand and ultimately work to reduce our impact on the environment and we are planning to reforest.
