Why did you decide to create Double Dutch?

J: We were raised in the Netherlands so we have a natural affinity with superlative drinks and excellent blendings, after all, we come from the birthplace of gin. But our romance turned to frustration. While the world’s choice of spirits has continued to grow, mixers and sodas have remained bland. Less of a twin, more of a shadow.

R: Spirits are becoming so much more experimental and unless you want the same overpowering tonic water there is nothing exciting in the market of mixers. So we thought there was room for innovation and started researching the market

How do you come up with your flavours?

J: At first we approached the issue by talking to mixologists to hear their views on potential spirit enhancers. After a couple of conversations, we were introduced to flavour pairing techniques. That led us to the initial development of our first two flavours: Pomegranate & Basil and Cucumber & Watermelon.

R: We tried and tested these at parties with family and friends and received good feedback. It was important to us that our mixers taste amazing solo and be all natural and free of preservatives, so they’re a refreshing beverage as well as being an enjoyable enhancer of mixed drinks.

We are passionate about flavours and we will keep researching and creating unique recipes.

What is unique about Double Dutch?

J: We are passionate about flavour pairing and have developed unique recipes that present unexpected and creative combinations.

R: Each bottle of Double Dutch is made entirely in the UK with no artificial flavouring, colouring or preservatives. We only use natural ingredients, blending them with the highest quality spring water from the North of England to create crisp, fresh and innovative mixers for refined palettes. Our drinks are also low in calories and only use natural sweeteners.

What´s the best way to enjoy Double Dutch?

J: We’ve created versatile mixers that work well with many spirits to create a range of drinks, from the classic gin and tonic or vermouth and tonic to wine spritzers, vodka and cranberry, and other options with darker spirits such as rum, bourbon and whisky.

R: Our flavours also allow consumers, and bartenders, to be inventive and take tonic waters and mixers to another level. We get a lot of feedback from people who also enjoy Double Dutch mixers on their own which proves we’re creating great tasting adult soft drinks too.

We believe we have created versatile mixers that work well with a range of spirits.
